Camera inspection

Sewer camera inspection in Greenville and the Upstate

A sewer camera inspection shows exactly what is inside your drain or sewer line, so you pay for the right fix instead of guessing.

What does a sewer camera inspection show?

A sewer camera inspection sends a waterproof camera through your drain or sewer line to show roots, cracks, sags, offset joints, buildup and breaks, and where they are. Ethical Plumbing reviews the footage with you and gives you written options. Call 864-438-0525.

  • Roots and cracks
  • Sags and breaks
  • Exact location
  • Footage you can see

See the problem before you pay to fix it

Drain and sewer lines are buried, so most problems are guesses until someone looks. A camera inspection replaces the guess with footage: roots in a clay joint 30 feet out, a belly holding water under the driveway, cast iron rusted through under the house. A locator on the camera head shows where each problem is from the surface, so a repair opens only what it has to.

We use a camera before hydro jetting to make sure the pipe can take it, after cleaning to confirm the line is clear, and before quoting any sewer line repair, so the price matches the real problem.

When to get a camera inspection

It pays for itself when:

  • Clogs keep coming back
  • Several drains back up at once
  • You are buying an older home
  • Roots have been cleared before
  • There is a wet or sunken spot in the yard
  • Before any sewer repair quote

How a camera inspection works

  1. Access

We go in through a cleanout, a toilet flange or a roof vent.

  2. Inspect

The camera travels the line while we watch live.

  3. Locate

A locator marks problem spots and their depth from the surface.

  4. Review

We show you the footage and your options in writing.

Why homeowners call Ethical Plumbing for sewer camera inspection

Every job starts with a diagnosis from a licensed plumber, not a sales pitch. We explain what we found in plain terms, show you the options side by side, and put the prices in writing before anything starts. If a repair makes more sense than a replacement, we say so.

We treat your home like a job site that people live in: shoe covers on, work area protected, cleaned up before we leave, and a walkthrough of what we did. Ethical Plumbing has served the Upstate since 2010, and our team brings 100+ years of combined plumbing experience. You can meet our plumbers or read what customers say.

Sewer camera inspection FAQs

How long does a sewer camera inspection take?

Usually under an hour once we have access to the line.

Do I need a cleanout?

A cleanout is the easiest access, but we can also go in through a toilet or vent. If you have no cleanout, we can install one.

Can I see the footage?

Yes. We review it with you on site and can share it for your records or an insurance claim.

Should I get a sewer inspection before buying a house?

For homes over 20 years old or with large trees, yes. A sewer line replacement is one of the most expensive surprises after closing.

Can the camera find roots?

Yes. Roots are one of the most common things we find, usually at clay or cast iron joints.

What happens if you find a problem?

We show you the repair options, from cleaning to spot repair to replacement, with written prices.

Does the camera inspect the city sewer main?

We inspect your line from the house to the connection. The main in the street belongs to the utility.

Is a camera inspection included with drain cleaning?

We recommend one whenever a clog keeps coming back, and before hydro jetting.
