Questions about this job
What does a well pressure tank do?
It stores water under pressure so the pump does not have to start every time a tap opens. That keeps pressure steady and saves wear on the pump.
What are the signs of a bad pressure tank?
A pump that clicks on and off often (short cycling), pressure that swings up and down, or a tank that has filled with water. A waterlogged pressure tank or short cycling can shorten the life of the pump.
Can you replace just the pressure tank?
Yes. If the pump is healthy, replacing a failed tank is often all that is needed. See well pump repair.
