From Main Street to the foothills
Pickens is a small town with a lot of history, and many of the homes near Main Street are decades old: crawl spaces, galvanized or early copper supply lines, cast iron drains and sewer laterals under mature trees. When leaks and low pressure keep coming back in those homes, repiping usually costs less than chasing them, and a camera inspection shows whether roots are behind a slow main line.
North of town toward Table Rock and Highway 11, and out toward Dacusville and Six Mile, homes are spread out on wells and septic systems, with long water lines and crawl spaces that see harder freezes than the city. That is where we repair well pumps, thaw and repair frozen pipes, and add whole-house filtration after testing well water.

Pickens water and sewer: who to call
In town, water and sewer come from the city system. The city owns the line up to the meter; the line from the meter to your house is the homeowner’s, and that is the line we repair. Outside town limits, many homes use private wells.
Homes outside the sewer area are on septic systems. We clear and repair the drain line from the house to the tank; pumping is done by a septic company. Inside the sewer area, the private line from the house to the main is generally the homeowner’s.
Why Pickens homeowners call Ethical Plumbing
Every job starts with a diagnosis from a licensed plumber, not a sales pitch. We explain what we found in plain terms, show you the options side by side, and put the prices in writing before anything starts. If a repair makes more sense than a replacement, we say so.
We treat your home like a job site that people live in: shoe covers on, work area protected, cleaned up before we leave, and a walkthrough of what we did. Ethical Plumbing has served the Upstate since 2010, and our team brings 100+ years of combined plumbing experience. You can meet our plumbers or read what customers say.

Plumber in Pickens FAQs
Do you serve all of Pickens?
Yes, along with Liberty, Six Mile, Dacusville and the rest of Pickens County.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Ethical Plumbing holds South Carolina mechanical contractor license CLM.117181 and general contractor license CLG.127052, and our lead plumbers are licensed at the Master level.
Do you work on wells around Pickens?
Yes. We repair and replace well pumps, pressure tanks and controls, and test well water before recommending filtration. We do not drill new wells.
My pipes freeze every winter. What can you do?
Foothill homes see harder freezes. We insulate, reroute or protect the pipes that keep freezing.
Can you help with septic backups?
We clear and repair the drain line between the house and the septic tank. A septic company pumps the tank.
Should I repipe my older Pickens home?
If you have galvanized pipe, low pressure or repeated leaks, repiping is worth pricing. We show you repair and repipe options side by side.
Do you give written estimates?
Yes. Every job starts with a diagnosis, and you get your options with written prices before any work begins.
Do you handle emergencies in Pickens?
Our phone line answers around the clock, and urgent calls go first in line during business hours.
